wow... I'm really bad at this...

I flew into Bangkok nearly 2 months ago. Here are the pics from the first loooong day!

We left our hotel bright and early, ate some mochi donuts from Dunkin Donuts and said our goodbyes. Unfortunately it was raining like nothing else, so my flight was delayed a couple of hours. Luckily, HKT airport has a second floor where you can kinda chill... I passed time watching people react when the power went out and editing photos.

I came across this Thai Airways restaurant. The waiters and waitresses were dressed in flight attendant uniforms.

I finally got into sunny Bangkok late in the afternoon. BKK airport is ridiculous. Not quite as baller as Changi, but still reallllly nice:

Waiting for our luggage to arrive... took... forever...

Throughout the trip, I've used public transport when available, and Bangkok was no different. I bused to a transit station, then transferred buses and headed to Victory Monument via help of a local. From there, another local guided me to the Sky Train station, which I took to my hotel. It took well over an hour... but everyone had been super helpful!

I must say, Park Plaza Hotels are freaking slick:

If i'm sitting on the bed, this is my view to the right:

Kinda awkward, but very neat! I could watch TV while showering!

I got HUUUUNGRY so I left to explore. Here is the view from Asok Station:

And here is Asok Station:

I headed to Paragon Mall to explore their epic food court:

*Note that I couldnt fit the mall into one photo while using my widest lens...

So here is the food court inside of the food court. One had to buy a re-fillable payment card to eat at these local hawker-style spots. I believe it was the curry shop that ended up giving me food poisoning...

delicious delicious food poisoning...

After that, I wandered into the grocery store and came across one of the most epic/sensory overload/omg aisles ever:

I stared for a bit, then stared at people staring at it. Then loaded up on junk food, betagen, and aloe drinks and returned to the hotel...

I should have day 2 of Bangkok posted this weekend.

Phuket Town

On our last day, we took the bus from Kata to Phuket. We got there a bit early and had to wait for the driver to finish up his game:

The 45-min ride took us by lots of the local joints.

Unlike the school bus, we didn't have to keep our limbs inside.

Why we weren't at the beaches...

I wish I knew how to cook it.

She made the best gummy candy ever!

I wanted to go inside...

Our bus driver pulled out a cigarette, and got a scolding.

PHUKET ISLAND!!!

I'm finally getting around to finishing off the pics from the trip. After Singapore, we ventured off to Phuket, Thailand for 3 days of sun, food and relaxation on Kata beach.

Looking back, I probably would not return to Phuket - It's been developed to the point of no return. Most restaurants catered to Westerners and there wasn't much in terms of sightseeing... Although, it was awesomely cheap, the spa at the hotel was amazing, and it waaaas a nice vacation from all the sight seeing.

I want to see some beaches in Greece...

We left Singapore bright and early.. weather seemed alright for "monsoon season..."

Things got cloudier as we got closer...

Somewhere close to Phuklet Island!!!

We arrive at our resort... minus my luggage...

We decide to look for the beach:

Kata is tailored towards tourism (espicially the Swedes), and interestingly enough, the Aerospace Engineers...

The beach was filled with these sand formations/patterns... It appeared that air would get trapped in the sand, and when it escaped over time, these formed.

We were able to catch the sunset!

THE COLORS!!!

The second day was filled with time at the beach, the pool and this place :D

Out around town at night:

I got a little out of hand at the design museum...

I wish we had the time for a Cheese Flavored Moment...

We ended up at Raffles! Singapore Slings!!!

Well, we actually went to Chijmes for food and drink...

Late night food run!
